12.30 - 1pm on the 6th and 7th August 2011. The current schedule for our fantastic military display is as follows:
12:10pm - The 30 piece Military Band and the 25 WW1 re-enactors will assemble behind an Austin champ vehicle at the entrance to the runway / arena
12:30pm - The Austin Champ will be the first vehicle in the arena and will be driven by the Arena marshall (James Vasconcelos). Once he is in the arena he will place a number of traffic cones either-end of the runway to indicate to the drivers were they are to turn while they are circling.
12:35pm - Once the Band and WW1 re-enactors cross to the middle of the runway / arena the military vehicles taking part in the arena parade will be allowed in. The arena marshall will be in touch with the marshalls manning the entrance to the runway / arena via walkie talkies to let them know when it is safe for them to enter.
The Arena marshall will have his Austin Champ vehicle parked on the runway next to the Band and this vehicle will have a flashing yellow beacon for the Band and the WW1 re-enactors protection.
Meanwhile the vehicles will be circling the display area while the Band will play and the WW1 re-enactors will carry out drill exercises.
12:50pm - Ten minutes before our time is up in the arena the Arena marshall will indicate to the vehicles to make their way out of the arena leaving the Band and WW1 re-enactors for last.
Part of the display by the WW1 re-enactors will involve blank firing of weapons. (there will be 25 re-enactors and each will have a rifle). They will have one blank round each and they will fire into the air just before they leave the arena. The blank cartridge will stay in the breech of the rifle, so no cartridges will fall on the runway causing a hazard to the model aeroplanes landing later that day.
Once the re-enactors have fired their rifles they will shoulder arm their weapons and prepare to march out the arena
12:55pm - Once all the vehicles are back in their parking places the Band and WW1 re-enactors will march from the display area back to where they started and exit the arena.
